Definition
UVC stands for Universal Virtual Computer, a virtual machine designed to support long term digital preservation.
The UVC is designed to be simple and flexible, to ensure that it can easily be implemented on future computer systems. Software to access digital objects can be created to run on the UVC. Future implementations of the UVC will still be able to run the same software, enabling long term access.
