Title |
SO25 Rosetta v3.0 Implementation Integrated with DROID 6 (better ZIP/OLE containers identification) |
Detailed description |
Rosetta is a complete OAIS-based digital preservation solution which currently installed on major institutions around the world (Exlibris Rosetta ). At Exlibris, we are exploring new tools for format identification and characterization.
In this solution, we will install Rosetta with an integrated DROID 6 (DROID ) |

Corresponding Issue(s) |
The following issues can be tested/solved by a Rosetta installation:
- IS1 Digitised TIFFs do not meet storage and access requirements
, we will embed the jpylyzer that is developed (wrapped) and used by SO15 JP2 validator and properties extractor (jpylyzer)
- IS5 Digital objects archive contains unidentified content

- IS8 Diversity of office document formats in digital objects archive

- IS11 PDF files may face preservation risks

- IS22 Characterise and Validate very large mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 files
- optional - since I'm not sure how the various tools will work with these large files.
- IS24 Characterisation of large amounts of wav audio
- by integrating ffprobe that is developed (wrapped) and used by SO06 Use Ffprobe to characterise Wav
- IS30 Fixity capturing

- IS36 Examine the long term value of the preserved datasets

- IS39 Format obsolescence detection
\\\\\* Note: Exlibris efforts can be invested only on LSDR WP (we don't have MM on the other TB WPs), therefore, scenarios (and their corresponding issues) can be implemented and tested by other partners using the same installation of Rosetta that wll be used for the LSDR. For example: IS30 Fixity capturing can be implemented by STFC on Rosetta installation.
